Course contents : Preference given to the "LEARNING" rather than to the "TEACHING". Study of application cases; compilation of scientific and technical papers of the specialized literature.
Course objective : In the event of impossibility to separate surfaces from friction, it is essential to control the parameters which, correctly selected, lead to a reduction of the wear of surfaces while avoiding banal seizing. (Application to high and low temperatures but also to ambient conditions)
Prerequisites : General courses of physics, chemistry and metallurgy
Workshops : Visit and practical work completed at the laboratory of Tribology II and on the site of cryotechnic tests. Bibliographical work for realization of syntheses devoted to various subjects.
Organization : Course organized in 7 lessons of 2 hours; Practice in two sessions of 4 hours
Written notes : Syllabus available
Assessment : 1 evaluation for the course and 1 for the practice
