Course contents : Basic concepts and laws of Newtonian mechanics. Application to the movement of material point (in electromagnetic field, central forces, at the surface of the Earth, "variable mass" systems) and solid bodies (plane and 3D).
Course objective : Understanding of newtonian mechanics and mathematical modelling of mechanical systems.
Prerequisites : Calculus (functions of real variables, ODE, vector calculus) and geometry (coordinate systems, Frenet local coordinate system)
Organization : Lectures : 30 hours - Exercices : 30 hours

First quadrimestre only

Assessment : Written test in January for examination exemption.

Written examination in May/June.

Oral examination in September (retake)
