Course contents : Introduction on pharmacist's role in health promotion - Major causes of morbidity and mortality in Belgium - Importance of styles of living on health preservation and disease prevention - Adaptation of drug dosage regimen to particular patients - Causes, effects, detection and remedies to non compliance to treatment - Pharmaceutical advice to patients: method of practical approach – Preventing disease by vaccination
Course objective : To prepare the student to play his pharmacist's future role in health promotion by providing him with information and useful tools enabling him to appropriately educate and to counsel patients about styles of living and drug utilisation.

Workshops : None
Organization : 3 sessions, 1st semester
Written notes : Detailed written notes and slides' copy
Assessment : Preliminary written test followed, if not successful, by oral test.
