Introduction to Lighting Techniques

Course contents : 7 lessons, each with theory and practice (in general)

Contents : Fundamentals of lighting and photometry, electrical lamps, measurement of their spectra, outdoor lighting, colorimetry, luminaires, BZ method, lighting calculations, project in interior lighting, introduction to daylighting
Course objective : At the end of this course, the student will be able to read and understand professional publications related to lighting techniques, such as standards, international recommendations or lighting material description. Also, he will be able to carry out simple lighting projects.
Prerequisites : none
Workshops : - Exercises on photometrical variable and their units
- Light sources spectrum measurements in laboratory
- Colorimetry experiments
- Lighting calculations and simple projects
Organization : 2nd semester

7 lessons (in general, 2h theory and 2h exercises or labo)
Written notes : Available by the teacher
Assessment : oral examination
