Course contents : "Introduction to audio and video techniques" addresses the analog and digital techniques used in the recording and reproduction of sound and video signals. The contents are : Fundamentals of acoustics, audio measurements, electroacoustic transducers, noise reduction systems, video signals, magnetic recording of sound and images, optical recording, audio and video compression schemes, MPEG, laboratory exercises (groups of 5 to 6 students).
Course objective : "Introduction to audio and video techniques" addresses the analog and digital techniques used in the recording and reproduction of sound and video signals.
Prerequisites : Systems control and analysis, Signal Processing
Workshops : Blackboard exercises

4 laboratory sessions (groups of 5 to 6 students max.)
Presence at these laboratory sessions are mandatory.
Organization : 1st semester - 13 lessons, each of about 4h (often 2 hours theory and 2 hours exercises or laboratory sessions).
Written notes : Available by the teacher
Assessment : Evaluation is based on the results of the examination and the laboratory sessions reports
