Course contents : 1st part: Introduction: order in Biology. Molecular aspects of biology : the bases of a theoretical biology

2nd part: Fundamental aspects
a. The usual technics and methods in biochemistry
b. Carbohydrates
c. Amino-acids and peptides
d.Proteins
e. Vitamins and coenzymes
f. Lipids
g. General properties of enzymes. Enzyme kinetics, regulation of enzyme activities (structure/function)
h. Biochemical energetic
Course objective : 1. To describe the main analytical technics used in biochemistry (electrophoresis, chromatography, ultracentrifugations...)
2.To describe the main properties of life molecules: carbohydrates, lipids, amino-acids, proteins, heterocycles (coenzymes, vitamins, nucleosides)
3. To give the bases of enzymology (kinetic, enzyme, nomenclature, reaction, mechanisms)
4. Remembering of bioenergetic bases. The molecules with "a high energetic level". The reaction coupling.
Prerequisites : . upstream: biology, chemistry
. down stream: biochemistry (partim II), human biochemistry, human physiology: partim: physical training, physical biochemistry training
Workshops : No practical course but integrated seminars

Written notes : Whole. Available in the students' room in pharmacy Institute, CHU, B36. The students have also all the documents used during the course.
Assessment : Written exams (following the general program of the studies)
